Ways to Give

St. Timothy’s prepares our students to confidently contribute and gracefully adapt in a world that will need their talent and leadership. The education they receive here—inside and outside of the classroom—enables them to maximize their individual strengths, develop global fluency, and establish lifelong habits of mind and character. Donations ensure we have the resources available to make this happen.

Gifts are vital in providing resources for student financial aid, faculty professional development, facility maintenance, health and wellness programming, art and athletics activities, and academic enrichment—all essential elements for educating our students and helping them move fearlessly forward into the next stage of their lives.

Throughout our history, support from the St. Timothy’s community has helped transform the School in so many ways. Every gift to St. Timothy’s School makes a significant difference—whether the gift is large or small, it signifies your confidence in us as a School worthy of your support. The Annual Fund, Reunion Class Gifts, Capital Campaign, Bequest, and Planned Giving are all important ways in which you can financially support the School.

  • Annual Fund

    Purpose
The Annual Fund is St. Timothy’s annual giving campaign and is a vital part of the School’s finances. Tuition alone only accounts for about 65 percent of the cost of a St. Timothy’s school education. Income from St. Timothy’s endowment and the Annual Fund makes up the difference.

Each year, alumnae, parents and friends make unrestricted gifts that provide about 10 percent of the school’s operating budget. Their gifts support all aspects of the St. Timothy’s operating costs, e.g., teaching initiatives, program support, the arts, athletics, house programs and financial aid.

For over 130 years, St. Timothy's has relied on alumnae and parents to help it fulfill its educational mission. We are grateful to all who have stepped up in the past and hope you will continue to support us this year.

Endowment Funds are a priority for St. Timothy's School.  A robust endowment will allow the School to plan for the future and to address changing needs throughout the School.
Named Endowment Funds can provide an opportunity to recognize family members, a faculty member or friend.  Your gift can remain anonymous if you choose.  The minimum gift amount needed to create a named Endowment Fund is $250,000.

  • Planned Giving

Thank you for your interest in supporting St. Timothy’s School. Your generosity will help us meet our current goals and reach farther in the future. We encourage you to plan your gift thoughtfully. Now is the time to consider how your gift can benefit you as well as St. Timothy’s School.

Your gift can take multiple forms and can help you address a variety of personal financial goals. A significant lifetime gift will allow St. Timothy’s School to meet our immediate objectives. In turn, it will give you maximum tax benefits, especially attractive if you are in high earnings years. It can also be the simplest gift to arrange.

You may, however, prefer to leave your assets and cash flow alone until your death, and instead make your gift through your estate. Even though we would not use this gift immediately, it will be critically important for long-term financial strength and will help ensure that we can meet the opportunities and challenges the future will present us.

You may use a will or revocable trust to make a gift from your estate. You may also use life insurance or the balance remaining in your retirement plan. These gifts help you keep your lifetime financial planning flexible, although they provide only limited income tax benefits. You will need professional assistance to set up most estate-plan gifts.  We would be happy to meet with you and your advisors to discuss how making a planned gift to St. Timothy's School can help you to meet your financial and philanthropic goals.
